I have been inspired to make a UDS from all the great Posts!
The Question I have is that I have a procured a drum that I want to use for my build. The Drum held Silicone in a bag so the interior is nice and clean with a goldish like paint or finish applied to it. I realize I have to burn or sandblast off the interior coating and bring it down to bare metal.

The question I have is that as I was looking over the barrel, I noticed mine was smooth without the ridges, like all of the pictures I see on here.
I just want to make sure that the barrell is fine for me to use food grade wise and not something that would hurt anyone. Also, maybe the ridges give the drum stifneess and that is something I should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance for yourcomments and help.

Your all good, Food grade is a big misnomer for building a UDS. Most all food grade drums have a painted on liner. so actually when you remove the liner it is no longer food grade:crazy: Fire purifies everything; once it is burnt out it is safe. The med profession heats their instruments to sterilize them samething here.
