Need Input
I was contacted by a guy that has a 5 year old Komodo Kamado Refractory Cooker with the 1200 fancy cobalt tiles and wants me to make him an offer. I've been real lucky with my Big Green Eggs but don't want to spend a fortune for some gussied up komado pot. The friggin thing weighs almost 500 pounds so I should be charging him to move it, right?
Anyone got one of the fancy cookers? Need input. I saw the review on the naked whiz's site. Is $400 too low? How do these cook compared to my Eggs? Will my Eggs get jealous? Help!

There was a Kamado in the Seattle area not long ago for $700 OBO and it had the NG option with it. Why is he selling it? PM Prof. Salt he is the resident Komodo Kamado expert.

Hey Capt,
Just wanna make sure it's a Komodo brand kamado, not the one from their rival Kamado.com. Two totally different operations with similar looking designs (at least until you know the differences between the two). If it's 5 years old, it's a really early model, one I'm not familiar with. Any chance you can get the guy to snap a picture of it? Dennis, the owner of Komodo Kamado, is all about continuous improvement. His production is constantly being tweaked and improved. He started from the outset to improve on the other designs out there, so even the early models should display significant improvements over the BGE. I can assure you it's not just a "kamado pot." Verify it's not a Kamado.com cooker. I would stay far far away from a kamado.com cooker. Way too may design flaws, manufacturing issues, and customer service nightmares well documented on the internet from that company. If it's from komodokamado.com and the guy takes $400 for it, then you have a seriously good bargain. Is it a local seller, or do you have to truck it some distance?
