Wow Phubar that's some amazing looking food! What does the kangaroo meat taste like? I like the Roti idea, did you make them? Man O Man, you got me hungry now. It's off to the kitchen but nothing as exotic. Nice!
 
Looks great, I know springbok and kangaroo, what is slavinken?

The Springbok and Kangaroo tasted like good a$$ steak!
My Mom made and gave me the Roti,a few months I was thinking what to put in a fatty and this is 1 of the things I wanted to try.
So I waited for my Mom till she made some Roti.:-D
 
Mom should be proud, her Roti went to good use. Wow, I'm really feeling that!

Slavinken is a sort of Dutch MOINK,if you show a MOINK to Dutch person he/she is gonna tell from the looks:ïs that a small Slavink?":-D
It's seasoned ground beef/pork wrapped in bacon as you can see in 1 of the pics.
 
That little piece of desert in the last pic looks sublime. :mrgreen:
 
De slavinken waren een leuke verassing (the "slavinken" were a nice surprise). All of it looked really great. I am not into food (at least not the cooking part) and smoking like my wife, but this is sure enticing. I might want to join you for dinner when I wll be visiting my family in the Netherlands. Thanks! Roxikitties7's Dutch husband, Jan.
 
Never having eat kangaroo, taste wise if I decided to give it a try. What could I expect having eaten only beef ,pork, deer, regularly?
 
Slavinken are one of the things I really miss along with the Mona brand vanilla quark (not the low-fat kind). For the non-Netherlanders, imagine a country where you can go to a grocery store and buy a bacon-wrapped fattie all ready to be cooked! I'm not talking about a specialty grocery store, but the standard run-of-the-mill grocery store that is within walking distance of everyone in the country -- now that is what I call civilization!

Man, that food looks fabulous!

I think you can expect beef flavor,I like kogelbiefstuk (ballsteak?) very much and think it tastes a bit the same with the texture and tenderness.
Worth to try,it won't dissapoint you.
