double dog dare me?

BTW Buttburner, I like the rolled flashing idea. That'd work great for a quick fix to make a smoke chamber.

How do you know you ain't roughin it when camping?.. When you got ADT in your cabin!
lol...this is a private farm outside a small town that has 4 cabins they rent out. It is a bit away from their farm house, so the alarm is not a bad idea.

It is a great place for a quiet, romantic getaway, but most definitely IS NOT camping ;) I'm a tent guy for camping. Wife is OK with tents but prefers a cabin. We usually alternate as a compromise...

Another brethren folded the point over on top of the flat and cooked a similar sized packer on his mini. It worked out great for him. I tried it a few weeks ago, and the point kept wanting to unfold during the cook, so I sliced into the meat where it needed to fold and it stayed in place after that.

The meat turned out really good, and I agree hands down, the mini wsm is the easiest, most effective small cooker I've ever used.

I wonder if you could run a short skewer through it to make it stay in place?:wink:

i'm thinking something exactly like this!

take 3 empty beer cans, lay 2 flat one on top to form a triangle

wrap it in foil, put it on the grate.

lay the brisky over it

that was my first thought, but i think the joe is only @ 2 cans high inside to begin with.

maybe i'll skewer the farker, like a rack of ribs in an 18 kinda thing.

Get a small galvanized garbage can. Build a fire in it to burn out the zinc. Once you have that done you can do the following.

Place several layers of heavy duty aluminium foil on the ground. Put a foil pan down on top of the foil. Place a grate on top of the pan, place your packer on the grate. Turn the garbage can upside down to cover your pan/grate/packer. Surround the can with kingsford and cover the top with kingsford. Light the charcoal, sit back and drink beer. Keep adding charcoal as you need to. Once you have it as done as you would like, then you can reverse sear it to get a little more color on it.

Takes a stuffed chicken about an hour. For that I use a bundt cake pan with a piece of foil covered rebar sticking through the hole in the pan to set the chicken on. you can put veggies in the bundt cake pan.

When you are done clean up is easy. Put everything back in the garbage can, put the lid on and go. quite a few folks do this.

For those like me that want to ensure you are envisioning this correctly...
