Of all places - it was in Cooking Light. OK - so the instructions didn't call for the fish to be cooked on the grill. But I think that I found a winner - especially with my little girl and my wife.

How rude of me - here is the recipe and how I prepared it.

For one small (in my opinion) salmon.

1/4 Cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
2 TBSP Cider Vinegar
2 TBSP Veg Oil
Salmon Spice Rub

1 salmon cut into service sized filets (about 6 to 8 filets)

Mix wet ingredients, and marinate in ziplock bag for hour or so. Prepare kettle gril with high heat on one side, and indirect heat on the other.

Place salmon skin side down on indirect heat, add salmon seasonings. Cook 6 to 8 minutes or so.

When salmon is mostly cooked, put side without skin on hot side of grill, then rotate 90* to create nice grill marks.

MRI, your daughter is a sweetheart!! How cute! :-D

The salmon looks excellent, thank you for the recipe. :)

It was always hard to get my kids to eat Salmon when they were younger, until I started marinating it in Yoshidas Gourmet Teryaki sauce and grilling or smoke cooking it-they couldn't get enough of it and would even request it. Looks like you've got a good start with your younguns'!
