Great pics, Roger. Thank you for taking and posting. You made my son's day with him seeing himself on the internet!:p It was good to get a chance to talk to you for a while, also. I'm sure I'll see you down the road....

thanks again Roger, it was a blast seeing a first time team do so well at the contest....wonders how much is spent for next year already.....laughing, we all said that was the most expensive calls to get ever.......

you talking about us? (williams smokem if you gotem)? thanks alot for the encouragement, kind works and everything else. we had a blast and we are planning a few more contest for next year.
 
I do have to disagree with Steve on one point he said the reason it grew so big the second year was because of the money. I say it was because of this fine site and all the BRETHREN

Why did Nelsonville have so many teams? I believe it was a mixture of things. Yes, Roger is very correct, without the brethren supporting the competition in 2008 there would not have been a 2009. The new sponsor Rocky Boots who decided to take a gamble on a teatering event and won. The people of the Nelsonville area for supporting the event. Most of all the teams that traveled across the USA to be in Nelsonville on a cold and rainy weekend in October to cook some damm fine BBQ. Oh Yea, the money wasn't that bad either.

Opinions may differ but the big thing is it worked and it will work again in 2010. We learned many things from all the teams this year and hopefully we can use those next year to do even better. Remember Nelsonville on October 15 & 16, 2010.
