Default Chafer Skirt

Do any of you caterers use skirts to hide the bottom portion of your chafers? If so, where did you purchase them from? I saw the add an ad in the Nat. BBQ News, but was curious of other prices out there. The funny thing about the ad; it states that if you "mention this ad pay only $23.95 + shipping (not the usual $29.95)". $23.95 is their regular price on-line, do I still get a discount?

Never used a Chafer Skirt before, but I do like the idea. We were catering for a company BBQ last weekend that was in a windy location and had a heck of a time keeping the chafing dishes warm enough. Do you think a chafer skirt would help with that problem?

I'm not sure if it's design was meant for windbreaking, but if it's heavy enough I think it would help. I would just hate to see the wind blow the skirt into the flame.

Here's the link to where I saw them: http://www.tobycompany.com/

It claims they are 'flame retardant' but I am still a bit skeptical.

Thank you for the link and I will investigate more. ;)

Never been to thrilled about the chafer skirts they do the following to me:

1. Limits your colors for table cloths, particularly when doing weddings.
2. Not hot on the overall look/appearance.
3. Limits your ability to place flowers and vegetation around the chafers, i.e.

Very nice! Did you get in trouble after you stole the vegetation from the wedding party? BTW - I don't do weddings (too uptight). Am I losing out on some $? Yeah, but I've been to many weddings where people just get too crazy (angry) about little stuff and it's not the caterers fault. Just want to stay out of that situation.

I dont know about the skirt, I was worried about wind ETC so I settled on this :

http://secure.thebbqguru.com/Product...&idproduct=233

Ive been using Caldera Three Bay Caterer for catering and at contests selling and has been AWESOME, so much so that I'm purchasing another one! I like the fact that it ruins on sterno or charcoal. I used charcoal at a contest and it lasted for 8 HOURS!

I got in on a group buy and BBQ Guru knocked off $75 on each unit! So if you find others interested and you go in on a group buy it could save you some $$

We do cater a few weddings. I am normally good at weeding out the ones who seem they might become 'high maintenance'. We are small-time and I like to leave those types to the bigger catering companies. It is a lot of work, prep, etc., but is also very good money.

That's a very nice piece of equipment you got there Bossman!

But like Marsha, I'm small time and I would hate to have to pay that much more money for something I already have. I was having a problem with the price of the skirts.
