Everyone here seems to be stand up guys, so I do not mean to suggest that any one would plan to do any thing nefarious.

Some people might judge more harshly after they perceive that they were judged harshly. Others might judge harshly if they know they are affecting whom they will compete against in the future.

Personally I could not do it because I would be aware of the above two scenarios and might judge unfairly favorable in an attempt to compensate. This would obviously be a disservice to other teams (not on my table).

Its allowed as we have seen it several times in the last 2 years .Tell me where else would you get the chance to judge the entries of the quality of teams I expect at that Sams contest.

I did not say that you would do any thing wrong or that it was not a good opportunity for you. I just think the organizers missed an obvious issue.

I do not blame any one for taking any advantage within any set confines.

It is just my opinion that it sucks. However, I may judge some next year....

You can't visit another cook at another Sam's without risking a DQ but it's OK to cook one event and judge another. I can see this policy causing heartburn for Sam's down the road. At the very least they should consider restricting it to you can't judge in a region you cook in.
