Do ribs cook more evenly with a rib rack? Or is it used more for space reasons?

Thanks,

I haven't heard of them used to help cook more evenly. They do work great if you are tight on space.

I quit using my rack since I never produced a well cooked rib even once in it.

When I use a rib rack I don't seem to get the color I want.

I use a rib rack but leave every other row open so there is at least one inch between the racks of ribs for good airflow for smoke and heat to circulate around them.
