Pelican or yeti....

So this is basically for camping, tailgates ect. Also to hold my briskets after they are cooked.

Price: Pelican for sure

Performance: ???

Looking at a 35 -45 qt.

Pelican is cheaper and performance difference is marginal according to this test of coolers in the link below. Unless you need to hold your briskets for 10 or 11 days instead of 9 :biggrin1:

Pelican you wanna cook hot a a fast to get bite through skin while yeti you can cook lower until probe tender. :grin:

I would look at Grizzly, Pelican, or Orca. I have a Grizzly and Orca. The seals are much thicker and better than a Yeti. Do you want a cooler made in the USA or Philippines?

Fly pelican, fly (what movie?)...

Keep an eye on dry weight as you compare them. I think I remember reading that the pelicans are much heavier but I'm not sure.

Yeti will make sure you get one made in the USA if you request it.... from their website:
"Our coolers are manufactured in the USA at facilities located in Iowa and Wisconsin as well as at a facility located in the Philippines. Want a YETI made in the USA? Call us at 512-394-9384 and we’ll make it happen."

I have a yeti 65; I'm pretty sure my kid is going to get it when he moves out of our house. He's 14months old right now. It is nice on extended camping trips having cold beer after 4+ days.
