"Mustard!"
YouTube - 1988 Grey Poupon Commercial
Some obscure commercial!

...as chosen by BurntFinger Jason, the winner of the I'd Hit That! Throwdown!

Jason's vision for this Throwdown as he described it to me is as follows...
Whether it's in sauce, powder, or seed form, mustard should be a strong component within the submitted dishes.

Click here to read the rules for the BBQ Brethren Throwdown...

You may submit entries that are cooked from Friday 4/8 through Sunday 4/17.

Entry pictures must be submitted by Midnight Central US Time on Sunday night 4/17.

By submitting entry photos to this Throwdown thread you are agreeing that you have read and understand the Throwdown Rules.

The voting will begin Monday 4/18 after I submit the "Vote" thread and will run through Friday 4/22. All votes will be public.

Don't forget, you can still enter the Farking Mess Throwdown until Sunday night 4/10 by midnight Central time.

Our next category will be decided by the winner of the Crepe Throwdown!

Best of luck and even better eats to all!

How does one grill or smoke mustard? :-D

Mmmm, smoked mustard greens, with a chunky mustard seed sauce and mustard-tini.

Hmmmmmm...smoke some mustard seeds then soak and grind...

......did it with a squirrel in the kitchen.

I got the French's Mustard last week at Costco, and picked up that nice little jar at USA Foods today.

Now... what to do!

QUESTION: How "strong" must the inclusion of mustard be to qualify? IE: If a mustard slather is used to apply rub on a rack of ribs....good? OR, will this just be left up to the voters to decide?

Yeah, it's me again.....the annaly retentive Wampus.....:roll::tsk::rolleyes:

I think that's enough to qualify, but we'll leave it up to judges to determine if it's enough to take home the title.

Personally, I'd think a mustard slather alone would not cut it. You'd have to do something else as well... but let the voters decide.

^^ Agreed

Mustard slather, mustard sauce, with pickles using mustard seeds... now THAT would qualify ;)

Like Jason, I think a mustard slather is enough to qualify. It is his TD, so I think that settles it. But my opinion is that with the creativity of those here a slather will likely not be enough to win.

Yeah, I think as well that a mere slather ain't gonna cut the muster...d.

Well, it's "let the voters decide" in any case. Everyone has their own criteria for voting. For some, a mustard seed will be enough and for others a slather, and for others a good soaking. I'm curious to see what we get.
