Found this thing sitting by a barn along side the road up in the NC mountains and had to have it. Built a couple fires in it to see how it would hold temps over the last month or so and decided to go for it a couple weekends ago. Threw 2 shoulders, 3 butts, 1 picnic, 1 brisket and 2 racks of spares to see how it would do. Total cook time was around 13-14 hours.. A couple of the butts stalled on me and had to kick it up a notch to finish them off. Was able to hold temps between 225 -285 pretty consistently.. I need to sharpen up my fire tending skills a bit but felt good with the results. This thing is built like a tank with 3/8 steel on the barrel and firebox. It has a water tank built between the firebox and top warmer box. Not sure who built it,? but was told by the old guy I bought it from it was built for a guy down in Georgia who used to set up at truck stops and sell Q. My neighbors were very happy I took it for a trial run..
