Hi,

Has anyone ever been involved with a contest with a fundraiser aspect like a walkathon?

I'm thinking of something like finding sponsors who will pay a certain amount for every top ten finish instead of every mile walked.

Is there anything like that out there?

Let's say that every team had 5 people that sponsored them at $5.00 a pop for each top 10 entry. Let's also assume that there are 5 categories.

50 top tens for the event
$25.00 per

$1,250.00 for the associated charity.

There are two things that stick out here:

1) It seems that it might be hard to motivate teams to actually get people to sponsor them this way in a contest. Who would want to be bothered?

2) On the other hand, charity walkathons are hugely popular and each participant gets tons of sponsors. Why not BBQ people?

Thoughts?

Eric
