Default Cross hatches on chicken or burgers?

I usually only see them on steak and swordfish. Does anyone do this?

All the time! On everything I cook. Grill grates are the best, work on any pit. Burgers, steaks or seafood.

Adds another layer of flavor to anything cooked IMO

I second that, GrillGrates are amazing. Well worth the investment.

They help a lot especially if you can't find non-skid mayo.
