My Grandmother turned 87 last week and I got to cook for her tonight!!!! I am a very lucky man to have been by raised by her and my Papaw, she is the one who taught how to cook indoors and my Papaw (RIP) taught me how to outdoors. She has cooked me many a good meals, so I invited her over for my version of her favorite meal. Leg quarters, mashed taters and gravy, and corn on the cob! Only have pics of the chicken because once she got here I put my phone down and spent time with her. Any way here's what I did get photos of.
About 30 mins before they were done I mixed up apple butter and my homemade sauce(Lexington Style) at 50/50 and brushed on both sides to glaze over.
Sorry about not having shots of sides or plated pics. The time I spent with my Grandmother was worth more than pictures. It was a huge honor to be able to cook her favorite meal for her and have her tell me how good it was!! That was the first time I've mixed apple butter with sauce. I will be doing that again, it gave the chicken a wow factor.
Thanks for looking!!
