Buy firm tofu, and place on cutting board covered with absorbant material. place a dish full of water on top gently and allow this pressure to drain the tofu of moisture for a few hours at least.
Slice cakes in half by running the knife parallel to the chopping board through the cake. Don't use oil on the tofu, but instead lay the tofu on the indirect part of the BBQ and smoke until golden brown. You can sprinkle some rub if you wish, serve with BBQ sauce. Make extra. It's delicious and others will eat it.

Smoked Tofu, just my $0.02 but this is SOOOO wrong!
On reflection, probably better than un-smoked tofu!

I do it a little different than Buccs, but, his way works great. Do the same first step, you must do this to be really successful.
I then make a thin soak of BBQ sauce and water, about like a thin BBQ sauce would be, marinade tofu in the sauce, then grill over the direct heat. You can also smoke it until it is hot. Don't oversmoke, tofu takes on smoke easily, and dries if cooked too long. No more than an hour, usually 45 minutes.
