Default A contest you will not return to.

Well we have the positives, what are the negatives?

My least favorite comp is DOVER, the reasons - weather, layout, toiltes in cooking area are disgusting, festival is lame, the cooks meeting was like putting 10 pounds of chit into a 5 pound bag, and I always loose a lot of money in the casino.

Salisbury. Not bashing the contest. It is well run but I do not see anything special about it to make it worth the drive for 4-5 hour drive.

So far for we cant complain. I do wish all comps would have showers for teams like ours. Coed showers would be OK. We can deal with that if it helps.

Yardly. unless they fix the space issue. (think the contest is gone anyway).

Being packed in like tetris pieces was nuts. 10 feet between rows?? . No way to get a truck or trailer in or out of the spot without driving over your neighbor.

Having to wait until the entire orw of teams next to you leave in order to get out was more insane.

It is a long ride.

They did announce 18k in prize money for this year, I think thats the biggest prize pool in the Northeast.

Also its in April when teams are chomping at the bit to play and its the only option.

I was not crazy about Yardly last year for reasons listed. I have heard it will not be there this year. I like the others including Dover. Best was New Holland- maybe because we did so well

New Hampshire Rock N Ribfest. Nothing against the contest or organizers but it was a heck of a drive for very little prize money, plus I had to carry all of my stuff in after arriving 10 minutes late.

And Grill Kings.

I second this. To have a prize pool of $3K for the KCBS and NEBS grilling contests COMBINED is a complete joke for an event that draws an estimated 20K visitors and generates revenues I have heard are somewhere between $150K and $400K. Then they claim that the BBQ contest itself loses money....laughable.

They can get away with it because it is an automatic Jack qualifier and the teams will come anyway because of that.

The funniest thing is that the contest is held at the Anheuser Busch brewery, and they tell us not to bring our own beer. Not because they are giving it to the teams for free, but because they want the teams to BUY IT FROM THE HOSPITALITY TENT for $5 for a dixie cup or whatever they are charging.

Un freakin believable.

I won't go to any contest that says they have 25 teams without 25 checks in hand first !!! that pi$$es me off more than anything !!

everything else i can deal with. If they give away decent enough money, a chance for the draw, and if i can get my trailer in and out fairly easily, I'm fine. I'm not going to complain about trash pick up, it can pile up for all i care, I have no problem paying for my ice, and if i'm in the top 10 in a catagory, please at least give me a $2 "I pottied by myself" ribbon or something !!..
