Default Fatty & Brat Pron, Thermoworks Toys

Good afternoon all. My sister surprised me with a ThermaPen for my b-day. I thought it excuse enough to fire up the grill! I had some brats on hand, and after reading all the hype about the infamous fatty, I had one purchased and waiting in the fridge. Tonight is the night. I rubbed my sausage (mehehehe) with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne and put it on the grill along with 3 mild Italian brats.
I have lump going at 300 with leftover oak and a fresh piece of cherry. The brats are still a bit frozen, so I have them on indirect heat till their middle warms. Boom, insert new thermaPen!
Just thought I'd share! Keep ya posted as the night progresses.

Oh, one last thing. This is the first time I thought to run my probe lines in through the chimney. This was a duh moment. Usually I just shut with the lid and there tends to be trace smoke leakage.

The brats are done and came out great! I put them on top of some leftover home made slaw and topped with german stone ground mustard. YUM! That Fatty is still smoking.
