How many racks of ribs for Catering Charity Event?
I have a friend who is doing a breast cancer charity event. He is serving beans, slaw, pickles, corn bread, and Ribs. How many racks needed for 60 guests?
I figure a 1/3 rack per person, your thoughts? For about $12/$13 bucks. Help Please

We do a charity cook for the Make-A-Wish Foundation each December. At that function, we supply about 4 ounces of pulled pork and 1/4 rack of ribs per head, plus slaw and a veg. We donate the food so I'm not concerned with what the event gets. We're there to feed 'em, not fatten 'em.

Hi Ray. Hope things are going good for you and family.
If it's a mixed group sounds good on quantity. But if it's a charity event make sure it's a one serving per person deal not a buffet left out for awhile. $6 for the ribs or maybe 7. Rest is your call. You didn't mention if you serve of just leave it and who supplies plates, etc. Also figures in price.

We normally offer two bones pp and that would equate to 10-12 racks for 60 peeps.

A rack will feed about 4-5 people taking into consideration all the sides.
