Like Julie said this was a very good first year event. With word getting out, they should grow pretty good next year.
Good to see those competing and judging, congrat's to all those who placed and to the Scotsmen's and Extreme Roaster's.

It was a lovely venue and great hospitality. They even had fireworks. I wish I'd had time to listen to the music and sample some of the Michigan craft beers in the beer tent. How cool was THAT?!

I hope that it becomes an annual event.

If anybody has pictures of our setup, especially the signs and the lines for food can you please send them to me. Need to find a good pic for using the local papers when we put in our ad.

What a cool contest!! Especially for a first time event!

VERY well organized, easy access in and out, dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday, and indoor plumbing and showers!!!!

We will most definitely be back!!!

Was great meeting all the Michigan contingent of brethren, some for the first time, some not.

Fireworks were awesome Saturday night, and the organization of cleanup...Trash, grease, and ashcans widely distributed for easy access...Just can't say enough good things about how these folks pulled this off. This might be the most well organized event we've attended!

Julie, it was a pleasure meeting you and your crew, and those hot pistachios are on the menu with a cold beer this afternoon! Can't wait to try the other Scovie winners as well! Oh, and thanks for listing us even though we weren't quite top ten!(Ford edged us by just under 5 pts)

Chuckie, was nice meeting you again, and having the chance to talk a bit. Glad you enjoyed the apple pie! Hopefully next year they pronounce your team name right at the awards!

Motley Que, thanks for your hospitality, and the great tunes! Was great meeting you all

Ford, Damn dude, your lines were incredible! To have that much going on, and still be top ten is awesome!

SmoSco....Thanks for everything!!! You have no idea how much we appreciate your hospitality and generosity! Wishing you the best in Iron Mountain, a hat-trick would be awesome!!! Picked you guys all along this year! http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...hlight=sleeper

Some old freinds of Dianes who live in not too distant Gobles, MI stopped by to say hello on Sunday, and could not beleive the warmth and freindliness of all the teams. They now want to take a judging class

If I've forgotten to mention anyone, blame it on the buzz of having our first comp with 2 calls! Only one top five, but still, sure does feel nice!

Can't wait to do it again next year!

Thanks again and congrats to all who walked!
Dann and Di

It sure was a fantastic event. And I was lucky with the boxes I turned in. The lines were great but we've already figured out minor trailer changes so we can add a fridge and setup 12 feet of serving counter. That way it will move easier for 3 people in the trailer when busy. And that means 4 people working as one needs to be finishing meat. Overall we're pretty happy with both the contest results and the vending. Got leads on a few potential helpers for vending ( casual labor) and that's a big plus.

Sorry I couldn't visit more but hopefully I'll see you at another Michigan contest this year.
