Saw that Performer. Looks a little rough inside. I'd rather have an 18 or 22 OTS for my needs (because of footprint and price). I rarely do straight grilling, and I would not use it often for smoking.

Cost/Price is really going to depend on how much of a rush you are in to purchase.
When I first started looking I could find 22.5 OTS's all around me all for below $40. When I was finally ready to pull the trigger I couldn't find one near by. After about 3 months of searching CL everyday I finally broke down and bought one at Fred M's during their fall closeout for $60. I still feel like I paid too much. Less than 2 weeks later a 22.5 OTS popped up on CL about a block from where I live for $30 and it included 2-20# bags of Kingsford Comp. I jumped on that right away. Shortly there after I have seen them within a reasonable distance for $40 or less. If you are not in any rush just keep looking and one will pop up for ya. Right now I am looking for a 26, but have only seen one listed and it is too far to get, and the guy basically want the same price I could buy one at Home D. for. I'm trying to be patient though...we'll see how long I last. Good luck with your search |

I'd do the red one listed above.

I urge you to consider a 22. You can probably find one used for a decent price for not much more than an 18 and it will be more versatile for the times you want to cook just a little bit more. I wouldn't bother with the logo grill as You'll just wind up paying more for something that is of no additional value to you. (If it were a gold Sam Adams on the other hand... )
That red Performer looks nice but I would not be inclined to go over $100 on it. That's a personal decision and I'm sure there are others who would value it more. From your standpoint, it has the ash bucket (like the gold kettles) and lid bail. the SS table is nice but if you are space constrained it is not an advantage.

by-pass that stupid budlight logo and the whole thing together if he wont go for anything under 60-70. It's an 18.5 and you can get it way cheaper everywhere else.

People in Hawaii only got small grills, so you see that on CL a lot. But today I saw this guy

I realize i'm a bit late to the party. but, for what it's worth, I paid $80 for my 18.5 Budlight OTS w/dings and rust in the lid rim. being a different(not rare) grill, it was worth it to me even w/the dings.
Since purchasing, I've added an ash catcher, thermo and lid holder to create Buddy. IMHO, having a unique functional cooker is worth the $$ I dropped to create him.

Even at $40, you'd then have to buy a few cans of paint to cover that hideous logo.
Right now up here the BBQ off-season has begun and CL is flooded w/ Weber kettles at great prices. Is there an off-season down your way?!
