Default I got a FREE Big Arse Grill

Sometimes, my job is so cool that I can find some really cool stuff super cheap or even free. The other day was one of those days. We own a scrap yard in the Chicago area. Anyway, someone called and asked if we would be willing to take her old grill off her hands that her husband had made in his factory. This peeked my interest so I went over there with our driver and this is the beauty I came home with. It has over 1500 square inches of cooking area and 2 separate cooking chambers. I am going to make new cooking grates and give her a fresh paint job but other than that, she is good to go! The lady told me it hasn't been used since the late 90's. I paid exactly $0 for this.

That thing is cool - it looks like one of those snub nose van/truck things from the 60's.

Sweet, can the side box also be used as the fire box? If not you may want to confider putting in a cut out for the heat to flow into the upright section. Having said that I would use if a few times before making any drastic changes, if any.

I have thought about trying that. The side box has a heavy duty cover for it that is removable but I am sure it could be converted to a firebox very easily. I am going to wait and see how she cooks before I do it.

I need a forklift to lift it into the back of that truck! This thing has to weigh at least 400# and that is a conservative estimate. I had to bring out truck with a lift gate to drop it off at my house!

It is so big and heavy that I haven't figured out a way to get it to the backyard yet! It is sitting in my driveway right now. I don't have to worry about anyone stealing it because it is way too heavy for a thief to move it quietly.

Interesting design! It will be interesting to see how it cooks after some clean up.
