Maiden voyage for UDS #2. One small pork butt, sweet sausage and some dry rubbed wings to be dressed with a citrus bbq sauce and tightened up on the kettle later.

First time out for mine.

After chasing my tail temperature wise on the seasoning run, I took out the intake riser pipe and slapped a ball valve out the side, and guess what? Steady as a rock at 245-250.

One bacon covered butt, and a sadly small number of ABTs(the only decent looking japs at the store at the time)

Default Mini UDS Burnout

I was trying to grind the liner out,it worked but it seams like it was getting tougher.
So I looked in my shed if I had wood to burn!
Drilled 3 air intake holes and got that thing started.

Good move!

A shorter, fatter exhaust would make it run smoother also.

Might not be enough for that red liner, those are usually the toughest. Tan is pretty easy. Good luck.

yeah i had one with a red liner. had to burn it out twice which kinda blew. its not very convenient to have a raging inferno in a barrel, in your small yard a mile outside of manhattan! i have a fire dept right across the street from me too. they poked thier heads out a few times but didnt fire up the engine.

Hugh Jordon, Yeah, after reading all of these posts, I have visions of burning it out for forty days and forty nights, and after the barrel melts, the liner is still standing.

The burning part is easy, it's the cleaning part I am not looking forward to. After the second burn did the liner come out pretty easy?
