It is also a lot of smoker. But it says homemade, so I wouldnt think that it would sell that high without a "big name" dealer on it. I dont know how old it is either.

its a high volume unit for sure and that makes it worth something but 12K is a lot to ask. the builder may be tied to it emotionally and thinks its worth much more than it actually is. Speaking from personal experience; when this happens you find the most expensive smoker on the market that has similar capacity and you assume yous is worth that (after all you put alot of time into it) and its a steal at that price. slowly but surely you get no bites and your price comes down to reality. On the other hand if he has no desire to sell it and is checking a box with the Mrs. then more power to him:-D

Some people like to thing their smokers are worth their weight in gold. This one for example. No way is someone around here going to pay $4000 for this. It's a $1k smoker, MAX but more like $6-800.
