So what well $167 get you???

I went to my favorite butcher over the weekend and brought home the following:

4 Pork Butts (33.52 pounds)
2 Sets of Short Ribs (4.05 pounds)
4 Slabs of Spare Ribs (18.09 pounds)
6 Fresh Brats (2.05 pounds)
1 Chuck roast (11.21 pounds)
6 Packages of Smoked Beef Sticks (10 per package)

Not counting the beef sticks, it came to approximately 69 pounds of meat… One of the Pork Butts is already curing (Buck Board Bacon Mod) and the rest is sleeping nicely in my freezer…

Yea, I was hungry...

Actually, I like to keep a stash in the freezer so that I have options if I have time...

The one that scared me was the Chuck Roast... This thing has to be close to a foot around and at least 5 to 6 inches thick... I'm thinking of just rubbing it down with my brisket rub and letting it go... Should be great for pulled beef, chilli, beans, and a hole lot that I haven't thought of yet... :mrgreen:

It's actually a slaughter house just outside of Fort Atkinson, Wisc. called Schroedl's Meat Market (920.674.3760).

I've been buying there for the last 30+ years and don't recall ever getting a bad cut of meat.

Yea, the distance would have been an issue if I wasn't already going up there to check on the family cottage. I only had to drive 10 minutes out of my way...

I got no problems hitting the 'Stop' or 'Famous Daves'... Just give me a day and time and I'll be there!!! Hell, I drive up to Milwaukee to have dinner with my daughter every 3 to 4 weeks anyway...

Sounds like you did good!
I would have a hard time letting them "sleep" in the freezer, though.
I would probably make mine sleep in the stick burner the first night home.:lol:

The fact that I had a visual of all the things you tested for $167 on her, I mean, on the meat, had me in church before you (you walked by me, I was in the confessional)
