The Wife's First Tri-Tip
I got home late this afternoon and my wife had decided to try her first Tri-tip! It turned out really well, though a bit too much heat. Had a nice dusting of SM Peppered Cow.
She did use the Super Fast Backlit Blue Thermapen, but pulled at 137* which was a bit much. It had great flavor and was not as tender as others pulled a little earlier. I am happy for her efforts...she asked me if I was going to post this, so here it is!!! |

Looks tasty! Slicing a Tri is the most important thing.

You'll see towards the middle where you can cut along a fat line..cut it in half then you can cut those two halves against the grain also.

looks good enough. only mistake is that its cut to thick.
cut it thinner and against the grain and it would be great. we all don't get it right the first time, or the second, or the third. so make sure she continues !

If I came home and my wife had cooked up a nice looking TT like that, I could care less about how it was sliced! She did a fantastic job and you, Sir, are a lucky man!
I'd hit that! Bob
