Yeah, but you can die before you find "the one."

I have owned dozens of webers and literally only one was bought new (actually not even new, second hand never put together). I'm accustomed to sloppy seconds, its the new ones that make the food taste funny.

You're weird, putting a grill in your mouth?

I bought my 26 inch Kettle 3 years ago and wish I bought it sooner. Very versatile. Grill with 2 cook zones. Recently grilled ribeyes, chicken breasts, 3 skewers of shrimp, baked potatoes, Italian bread and asparagus all at once. Can smoke for several hours with the snake method. For smoking smaller meats (wings and country style ribs) you can add a grate from 22 inch kettle raised with carriage bolts and you nearly double your cooking area.

Some industrial purple or simple green and a razor blade takes care of all that in about 15 mins.

You go right ahead and buy a 26er for $300. That's about how much I spent on my 26er, a Gen1, a Gen2 and a Gen3 Performer, 4 Gennys and a Summit 650.

Don't take that the wrong way. Weber are worth the money, even $300 for a 26er if you need the capacity. But if you can pick up a nice one for less, we'll, that's a no brainer in my book.

The 26" is an amazing beast, well worth the price. But obviously not to you, so not much to discuss! Like others said, wait and buy used.

I thought I posted this earlier but, last year I got a 20% off at Home Depot during the Father's day sale (Lowes, HEB, and other had a similar deal).

$240 was a really good deal in my book. Of course, the others were also 20% off too.

Do it. I got mine for a discount from Ace hardware earlier this year and I love it. Made some well known accessories myself to save a few coins.
