Kindling Cracker

Twists and knots? You better have a big mallet. In my experience the splitter does not do well except on straight grain logs/splits.

Agreed, often times it splits short at the knot. I keep those logs for the fireplace and run the straight ones thru the “Cracker”.

I bought one and haven't really had much luck with it. I used a heavy sledge type hammer and the thing maybe isn't sharp enough. I don't really know but I couldn't get my splits to split again.

Did you secure it to something? When I first got mine I just set it on a stump I used for maul splitting. Wasnt that excited about it after a couple trial runs. When I run a few lag bolts through it and properly secured it to the stump, it was a night and day difference, now it's a dream to use, I love it.
