Southwestern Rubbed Ribeyes on the Weber Kettle (w/photos)

I took these out of the fridge to room temp, while waiting, thought i'd indulge in a 'tini and listen to some 'Trane.

Rubbed the ribeyes with a Southwestern rub I found in this book. (chili powder, gran garlic, dry mustard, paprika, grd coriander & grd cumin)

while they hung around, got out a large 15" CI skillet filled with sliced sweet onions and fingerlings...

then removed the taters to another CI server...

...to make room for sliced 'bellas and sweet baby peppers.

a short time later, everything was taken from the kettle...

...and the ribeyes went on.

last time i grilled steak (last week), liz' was under-cooked... so tonight, i was prepared.

Love the sax. Also the violin.
You can make some of the best and worst sounds ever known to the human ear with both those instruments.
 
Nice, never thought of using the thermopen to check doneness of steaks. Anyone know what the temps are for Well, Med. well, med, ...

i did not actually use the thermopen, i just made sure she saw me take it outside near the completion of the cook :p
