Anyone had the Fire Grate covered under the BGE Warranty? The local dealer says it is not covered but the paperwork I have from my Egg does not state the Fire Grate as being one of the items that is not covered.

Mine had a hairline crack when I bought it, I could tell because when I would sit it down when cleaning I could hear the Ting sound. Now it is about a 1/8" crack 6" long and is getting worse.

My dealer said the same thing.I sent The Mothership an e-mail and they said it was.I showed the dealer the e-mail and left with my NEW replacement fire grate.

They definitely are covered. Some dealers are just hipper when it comes to understanding the warranty and keeping folks happy. My dealer actually stands behind the gaskets on new Eggs for either 60 or 90 days.

BGE customer service rocks. We are lucky to have a vendor in the area that pretty much will replace anything without question. I saw a small on craigslist and called about it - asked about the ceramics. The seller said the fire box was cracked, but he'd take care of it. He took a picture of it on his phone, drove to the store and got a new one. No problems. Hard to find that kind of customer service, but that IS one of the things that make the Egg worth the money. I'm sure your grate is covered and will be replaced.
