Thats a nice payout. I like paying out more places then just GC and RGC for overall. On the other hand, I dont see the point really in cutting a check for $25. So I think you have it right going down to $150 for 5th overall in a category.

I think the payout schedule should allow for as many teams as possible to make their costs back... That doesn't mean the winners should be cut back dramatically, but finishing well ahead of most other teams should provide enough $$$ to cover a teams costs, regardless of the number of teams.
This contest is $ 280 entry with max 60 teams

KCBS Sanctioning requires payout to 5th place. We pay to the 10th place, never thought of paying 3d place overall - It's a good idea that we ' try to incorporate for 2011 - we have a $22,000 payout overall
