So you may have saw my other thread but I ran out of oak wood and couldn't find it anywhere in town! I have my own method of cooking with wood in my gas grill at my apartment so I turned on just one side of the burner and placed soaked mesquite wood chips on the briquette holders beneath the grates and cook the tips in direct then seared.

These may have been the best tri tips I've ever cooked, they were SO good and so tender.

$36 for two prime tips

Very nicely done, good job on the tri-tip. I don't believe there was ever a salad :becky:

oh yea now that is some pron! how do you make your cheese sauce for your mac n cheese? that looks amazing! great looking trip tip right there too!

Yup I make the whole thing from scratch it's really easy, I used to use Tilamook Extra Sharp White Cheddar but Costco stopped selling it :( I settled for Tilamook Extra Sharp Chedder (yellow)

Great pics!! Nice looking beef...yes, love the crust!!

Was there 30W dressing on the salad!? :becky:

Beautiful Tri-Tip, and a very creative way of using a gas grill, I might add! Just picked up two prime ones myself today.

That prime looks so marvelously marbled, much so, more than some of the wagyu threads I've been seeing pop up lately. Oops :tape:

That's Tortaboy meat.

:heh: no weird bones man

oh **** man, not to hijack this thread, but that's funny as **** man. I did a rack of spares, yes, spares only trimmed some fat off of it. I was going to post some pr0n of it, titled, "weird bones bbq", but man I felt evil doing so.

Dang you CA quers! Very rarely (like once) have I found TT here in VA...and that was at a neighborhood butcher. I'm a transplanted CA girl and used to use TT all the time.
