Talk about splitting some wood! This is a great way to get it done. Easily replicated and works like a champ!

Saw this on a WFO Forum and thought y'all might like it.

I'd love to have one of those in the backyard. Like always, would like to see it work on some oak.

Someone posted these a while back on a different thread. I think they deserve a second look!:-D

Nice :)

I ended up getting the $20 harbor freight manual slider splitter thingy. It works great. I just prop the split between two cinder blocks on the grass, line it up and throw the slider down. Even my woman muscles can handle it!

I wanted to get the $300 electro-hydraulic splitter but that cost $280 more! But I don't have that much wood to split so.

Show me what you got because i need something cheap that works. I can't see getting something fancy because i don't need to use it often.

Yea i found it too but thanks! That is perfect for my needs. I knew geek was good for something! ;)

Okay, he wins. He can come and split wood at my place with the rig anytime.

Ever notice how all of these guys have perfectly seasoned, perfectly straight grained wood?

There you go again commenting on the grain of his wood! Wrong Forum. "Perhaps but then again maybe not!"

That's actually the one that I was thinking about getting myself. Where did you find yours?

With the manual hydraulic and electric hydraulic wood splitters in Harbor Freight. It's in an unmarked cardboard box sitting down next to the other two. It's very easy to miss. I asked three people there too and they didn't know what I was talking about.. just looked at me funny. But that's how it goes when you perpetually hire new people at minimum wage every week.

I guess I should have posted this in Q Talk instead of Wood Pile.

It does have a nice jazz soundtrack.

Here's how I do it, Fiskars X27 and sweat! I heat my house with wood, 2-2 1/2 cords of wood a year and I split every piece with this baby!
