Hey guys i am new to the site, and i am a long time lurker. My home made double barrel smoker is finally rusted out after 4 years. Conveniently i found a 500 gallon propane tank for $50 and my my uncle passed away a few years ago had a 250 gallon grill mounted to a trailer, that i was recently given.
See where im going with this?
Anyways the tank measures 88"x37" diameter
I plugged the information into the calculator and
i need a firebox that is 38,500CI 34x34x34 square
The stack is 40" tall x 8" wide
Link to BBQ Pit Calculator
I am debating on a few things,
I've done a ton of reading and can't make up my mind.
2 vs 3 racks?
2 vs 3 doors??
RF vs TP vs offset cooking?? I am leaning towards offset with Tuning plates
The real issue is that I need help on my CC to FB opening diameter/dimensions and where exactly to cut the hole for it in relation to the grates
I also need to figure out the best place for the smoke stack where in relation to the grates to mount it?
I am leaning towards an offset with a few baffles I like different cooking temps and the amount of wood used isn't an issue.
Thanks for the help
