I would like to try a tri-tip roast. I asked two local butchers and they told me that it is 5.99 a lb. I thought it would be more like 2.99 a lb? I can get Black Angus brisket for 4.69 a lb.

Am I about to be robbed?

Jeff
I promise, I am about to get a signature.

I've seen tri-tip as low as $1.99/lb when on sale. I think my last pack from Costco was $3.69/lb. At the high end of the spectrum, I seen it for $13/lb. at a specialty meat shop.

In regards to brisket, later today I'm picking up a case of CAB from a local wholesaler for $1.59/lb.

Hey Jeff,

That is about the going rate for us in the Great Lakes Region, sometimes you can get Tri-Tips at Sams and Krogers. Krogers usually runs about $4.99 per lb...

That Brisket price seems high to me... Ours are averaging about $2.50 per lb, you can get it cheaper at Restaurant Depot or other Provisioners...
