I'd bet that that's at least the third time that the word "adjective"
has been used in this forum.

John,

Besides the powder coating (bonus!) I'm curious as to how the thickness of the metal on the PBC compares to the thickness of metal from a standard/average 55 gal. drum one might use to make a UDS? I never did build a UDS because I struggle to build a sandwich I'm so handy, but I'm liking what I've read so far on the PBC.

Thanks,
Brian

It's the same cold-rolled steel.

WSM 22.5" > PBC

Ill take weber over any other grill/smoker in the same category and price range.

Weber hasn't been around forever because they produce garbage products.

Right now a guy can get two PBCs to their door for very little (maybe $25) more than a 22" WSM delivered.

Register for free as a user on grilling.com and you instantly get a 104$ discount code which is supposedly good til the end of Jan, but possibly longer.

After much consideration I have purchased a PBC. There are enough people that love them to make it worth trying. With the discount and free shipping it's not a huge investment.

I'll report back my results once I receive and cook on my new PBC.

Thanks for all of the discussion and advice on this subject.

It seems like a good decision based on the information you had. There were a lot of replies from folks who had actually used both and favored the PBC. Others clearly favored the WSM but it was not clear that they had any experience with the PBC to back it up.

I'm a huge Weber fan and could not be happier with my WSMs but cannot make a recommendation WRT the PBC since I have no experience with it. It does kind of make me want to try hanging ribs in the WSM.

Based on the comments I'm sure you will get good results and be happy with it (and probably would have been happy with a WSM as well.)

Keep us posted!
