When I was a kid, we used a pot bellied stove to heat our house. Of coarse the living room was really the only room that was half way warm. I remember we always had a pot of water on the top to keep moisture in the air.

Those little stoves put out a lot of heat! Great for a canvas wall tent.

My memory of those stoves is the super dry air in created, and the nose bleeds it gave me...lol
