Let me start off by saying I am not a cole slaw lover. I will eat it but not my favorite food. I am wanting to know if you would share your technique and recipe for cole slaw. Thanks in advance.

Sure.. I buy the big bags of already chopped up slaw at Sams or Costco. Mix 1 cup each of mustard, mayo, vinegar, and sugar. also add some dill and celery seed and maybe some cracked pepper to the mix. this dressing is good for about 5lbs of slaw. Most people like it and you are right in the middle to either the mayo based crowd or mustard based crowd. good luck

You looking for mayo based or vinegar base? If you are worried about spoilage vinegar is the way to go

This is what i use. I chop the cabbage by hand, I figure 2oz. cabbage per person and add minced celery, grated carrots and red cabbage, this is the mix i use from Dinosaurs BBQ cookbook.

2C mayonnaise
1C cider vinegar
1T minced garlic
1T brown sugar
1/4 large onion, grated
1T kosher salt
1T black pepper

1t celery seed
  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Fold the dressing into the cabbage.
  3. Chill for several hours.
This does around 3 pounds of cabbage, when your done it's about a 3oz serving.
