I have a line on an 85 gallon drum. Ace hardware has a 26" kettle grill for $99. I would love to have the dome lid. Plus that would give me 1 cooking grate and a charcoal grate. Looking at the measurements, it looks like it would work. Has anyone tried a 26" kettle lid? I guess I could alway cut the kettle and fit it into the drum.

I have not, but my buddy Larin (Hog-Que-Holic) said he measured the Weber lid and felt it would fit on his 96 gallon drums.

Is the grill a Char-Broil or Weber? Either way, a 26" grill at that price is hard to beat! Is it a hinged lid? Seen some 22" kettles on CL that had the hinged lid with a warming grate that attatches to it.
Sears had a 26" Companion grill a couple years back and at the time they stocked replacement grates, but no longer. I wouldn't be surprised to see some knock-off brands pushing a 26" grill to compete with the Weber.
If you do get it and it fits, let me know, I'd drop a C-note to pimp out my 85 gallon drum with a lid!

Some manufacturers sell parts. I know Chargriller sells every part of the grill I bought as replacements. Might be worth a look to see if you can buy just a lid or whatever you need.
