OK so I have some extra grill racks from ECBs I've burned through and I thought I'd turn them into a multi-tier rack for my BGE. I don't have a welder so this will be a Nuts & Bolts job. My question is what type of material to use?
I'm thinking Stainless.

Standard steel will be good, stainless looks pretty until grease covered. No Galvanized..

Old Dave's "Contraption" is the slickest design I have seen for making your own multi tier grate. In this article from his site, not only does he have a bill of materials, but he also has a bunch of cooking examples and tips for using this outfit. He has logged 4000+ hours of cooking with the Contraption, so that takes a lot of the guess work out of it.

try regular-old-standard-find-in-the-garage nuts and bolts and washers. no need for galvy or stainless. but EITHER and or BOTH of those would work too.

or just some simple wooden blocks of hickory or oak will work fine too.
