Thanks. Have not totalled it up yet but we are still very cheap considering all the upgrades we have made. Steel and Aluminum are not cheap these days though. Even when you are buying via the scrap yards.

Thanks. Had A lot of help along the way from a bunch of equally talented friends too. We will be at Faribault and then Owatonna so stop by for a cold one and pull up a chair. Look for the smoker and our RV. We call it the "Miami Spice Machine. because of its outstanding stripe job that it came with. ;>
Its very comfortable and paid for, both are things we really like about it these days.

Its been a little while since our last update. Wrapping up the firebox mods, so that we can slide a minion box in or the standard fire pit grate in when we are using lump charcoal and or wood. Got the grate cut out this weekend. The trailer has been torn back down part of the way and we are getting it ready to send to the sandblaster. Pics coming up.

Here is the paint we are going to use. Its supposed to be the same paint that you see used on the Jambo Pits.

More work on the lighted fenders. Decided to switch away from the led setup and go back to the standard bulbs. Needed a bit more light inside the fender to make it more uniform.

Got the grate roughed out. This is a section of floor grate that you would find over an opening in the concrete on a city sidewalk. Sectioned a piece out of an unused piece. Nice and thick cross bars. Adding a couple braces to the sides to help keep it flat. Also going to cut the sides so it will sit down in the lower portion of the firebox which has a deep V in it for ash collection.

Another shot of the rear portion of the fenders. Dropped the tail lights into the fender to help keep them from getting punched out if we back up into something. When could that ever happen right?

The first of the two temp gauge rings are done. Will have one for the top rails and one for the lower main rails. Overkill but what the heck. I had two temp gauges. In the words of Bill Cosby when he was talking about buying a Shelby Cobra. "Its got dual everything."
