Default Need Advice on Pit Probe Install for BBQ Guru

I have a BBQ Guru and after installing the pit probe through the *top* of the door of my WSM 22", the cables burned out instantly. This seems incredible because it is a full 2 feet from the coals...anyhow, after some tense emails, the folks at Guru sent me new ones.

Now I have a hole drilled at the very top of the WSM body and I have inserted the Pit Probe and used some tin foil tape to kind of keep it in place, but the tape isn't working. The issue is that the Pit Probe is constantly moving from cook to cook, so the set temp is different every time. I want to "affix" the probe so that it points down in the ambient air and still allows me to take the top grate off and on easily.

Any ideas? I was looking at this, I guess it could be retrofitted to attach to the side of the WSM body. http://www.firecraft.com/product/igr...lar-accessoies
