I work as a Butcher and live in an apartment here in Houston. I just recenty started competing in Lonestar Cook-offs with a friend of mine and I have seen come very simple pits and some very expensive rig type set-ups. I just started at a welding/Fabrication shop and I would really like to start my own build in a month or so.

SO, Show me what you have.

Dear Brethren, we owe nostang88 a great big thanks for starting this thread and to all who have shared. I could look at all these great pits all day. Keep the pics coming and thanks nostang88!:clap2::clap2::clap2:

Here's mine! Thanks to all who share there knowledge on this site :clap2:

This is my prize Jambo that a good Brethren sold to me. "Big John" was named after my father who passed in 1978. Spent many hours on here gathering wisdom from BBQ Bandit, Boshizzle, gtr, cowgirl and others and I have them to thank for giving me the PUSH I needed to get it. I have it under a small covered part of my garage so I can't get a good shot of it. I also cook on a salvaged weber kettle that the witch Katrina half way destroyed.....her name is FYK.....you can probably guess what that stands for.

Great lookin compact rig! Where is the firebox? Pic?
Yoder smokers build this as a grill it has adjustable charcoal pan. I called Joe at Yoder and he is in the process of puting bottom insulated firebox on the bottom we only have 2 1/2 hours to do all our cooking it is a must to cook at 350 min I will post pic when They finish..... Cheers!!!

A couple people wanted to see more of my Mini cooker named Cooper. It is made from a retired steel fireman's air tank, is reverse flow, has a log lighter, 10" wheels and a drain valve just like the big Lang's. The smoke chamber is a huge 6" x14", 6"x6"x8" fire box and it weighs in at 62 pounds. This was built by a friend who has an 84 and a 60. Lucky Guy!

Here are some action shots.

Anything else you want to know? Send me a PM and I'll do my best to help you out.

I guess I will add mine to the mix. Well, at least the ones that my hands can take credit for assembling, and the BGE.

What are the dimensions of that thing? Really looks awesome. I am thinking about doing one but I do not know how to weld either. How difficult was it. What kind of welding did you do?
