I noticed this comp on the KCBS website the other day. I went to Sam's Club's website and found out a little more about it. Apparently whatever it is, all the competitor slots are filled already. Guess that's what I get for staying out of the loop most of the winter.
Hope everything well Ray, looking forward to seeing the Grillbillies at Willie.

It's more of an invitational. The top 10 teams from 3 "local" contests get to compete with a chance to move on to the national championship in Arkansas.
Check the news section of the KCBS site for more info: http://www.kcbs.us/news.php?id=312 Last edited by Red Valley BBQ; 03-07-2011 at 12:18 PM.. |

They haven't had the local qualifiers yet. They don't take place until Sept. Go to the KCBS site and it lays out the whole process

The Medford competition is the region 5 qualifier for the Sams Club Nationwide series. There are three local qualifiers consisting of 30 teams in each. Ten teams from each will advance to the Medford comp. KCBS website has all the teams listed and I believe the field is closed in all areas, not sure though.
