Default Growth Hormones used in animal production

I was thinking lately about how growth hormones are used widely in the production of our country's meat. I sent a letter off to the Missouri Pork Association asking for information. I think this would make for great discussion. If you have any first hand knowledge in this area, it would be nice to hear from you.

I wonder what if any effects do the meats/foods produced with growth hormones have on the human body. I have read about the increase in female(mommy parts) cancer, but also wonder about weight gain, diabetes, other cancers, etc. The growth hormones make the animals gain weight faster, so does the hormone stay in the meat and is consumed by humans thus causing weight gain and other issues with people?

Now days the way foods are so mass produced I wonder just what is good and what is bad.
