Saw some cast iron for sale. Frying pans, pots etc. One Lodge and the rest they say made in China. They have xx with k over the top on them. Any opinions.

IMO, that's probably why they're on sale... I, myself, am hesitant to buy any cookware or food supplies from China.

I would let that go byyyy.
I find old cast iron stuff at yard sales or auctions

I gotta say, their recent track record considered, I would not use Chinese cast iron anymore. They have a long history of excellent cast iron work, but, at least in recent times, their manufacturing and safety practices appear to be pretty bad.

Buy the Lodge and forget the rest. Besides the safety factor as already mentioned, it will probably have problems from uneven heating. I buy nothing but lodge cast iron for those reasons.

I love all my old, and not so old, Lodge cast iron. I have numerous skillets and dutch ovens of various sizes. Beware though, there new enameled cast iron dutch ovens are made in china. I am assuming their regular cast iron is still made in TN, but who knows.
