You do have a point - why would anyone pay that much for a TAN or TEAL Thermapen when everyone knows that the ORANGE one is the fastest!
Seriously, these are the best on the market and worth every penny.

I'm tight and as slow as my digital instant read. Thermapen < 3sec Deltatrak 11063< 5 sec Thermapen spashproof Deltatrak 11063 Waterproof Themapen range to 572 (BBQ way overdone) Deltatrak range to 311 (BBQ overdone) both NSF,NIST traceable, C or F, etc. Deltatrak on sale for $17.50 Themapen $89? Maybe slow ain't so bad for tightwads!

I was surprised when at my first competition two weeks ago....they specifically wanted to see my Thermopen...Is that really in the rules now...no where that I noticed--but none the less I had my lightening fast Orange on hand
