St Pete FL local
ai just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jake, and I live in St Pete FL(we are close to Tampa, but better). I've been smokin meat for a few years, started with gas grills doing low temp indirect heat with wood chips for smoke. Built my first smoker out of a GALVANIZED trash can and a hot plate. Soon after building it then reading about poisoning I found a cheap vertical Brinkmann on craigslist. I did a couple mods and it's worked pretty good. Most recently I've built a UDS that I'm finishing up(pimping). I look forward to learning as much as I can here, and maybe even help out a total newbie here and there.

Welcome. Lived in Largo back in the early 80s. Right off Ulmerton Road. Loved the fried grouper sandwich at a place on St Pete Beach. It was great but not as good as BBQ :-)
