First overnight on the drum
Since I am on vacation this week I desided to have a BBQ tomorrow and picked up a 12 pound pork shoulder ( after opening it looked like 2 boneless butts) and a Brisket to smoke. I invited some friends and my sister and her husband, she called back and asked if her neighbor could come cus she is always telling him about my BBQ`s and really wanted to try it. I say the more the better, plus he has welding equipment . The night before I desided to make a quick and easy dinner and set up my charcoal basket so all I had to do when I got up was light he chimney and fire the drum up. Here is dinner, just chicken sands with avacodo and some of the Potato salad and frog eye salad we made for tomorrow.
Then I went to bed and took a 4 hour nap before getting up to cook. This time I am trying blue K instead of RO to see the difference. I fired the drum up and slowly brought it up to 240 then I added my meat and came back in and about 45 minutes later went out to check it and it came right back up to 240. So far so good. The pork The brisket

Love avocados. They look awful good on that sammie!
Never heard it called "frog eye salad" but that's funny! That's the one with marshmallows, oranges, whipped cream and all, right? Nice plate!

Hi Lionhrt, enjoy your week off!
What is acini noodles? I laughed at the "frogeye" story. Glad you still call it that. Good memory to share.

Acini is a small round noodle in the salad a lot of people mistake it for tapioca but its nothing like tapioca gives good texture to the salad

Great looking sandwich. I'm gonna have to look into that Frog Eye salad some more, if for no other reason than the cool name.
