I'm looking for someone's personal experiences, where I can buy one, pros, cons, etc.. I am considering the smaller model as a 2nd smoker in competitions. Thanks y'all !

There is a Google search box near the bottom of the page that will search just this site. Several members have recently bought Assassin smokers and have posted quite a bit about them.

Here are some threads to get you started...

As far as where to buy, I think the only option is direct from Assassin. I e-mailed them and received a response the same day. Shipping is reasonable.

WELL CRAP!... Ol' Podge pulling a newbie question without searching!!.. thanks!

Check out the Deal that Superior Smokers is running for this winter. They have 3 sizes to choose from and come with Guru and slam latch for the holidays.

Kevin's a great guy to deal with, and always willing to answer any questions!

Ron took care of the link I was gonna post, the smoker has been awesome. Jeff and Robin are hard to beat on personal connection and backing up their brand. Take care of you like family, good look if you need anything shoot me a pm.

Jeff and Robin aren't the only ones that stand behind their product. I personally stand behind every single cooker I sell. I am happy to answer questions about using it, as well. I cook on mine very often and compete regularly, ask anyone that has bought a cooker from me about the level of support they get and I think you will find that my customer service is second to none and I am happy to answer any and all questions. My number one goal is customer satisfaction.

I own 3 Superior SS-2s and use the 2 that are trailer mounted in competition. I love them and wouldn't use anything else.

I can only speak from experience but since the Assasin is fabricated by the same people as Superior, I can speak to how much I love my SS-1. I picked up my Superior SS-1 late Sunday night and I've cooked on it everyday since then and loved it. I was planning on keeping my BWS Fatboy as a backup cooker, but after using the SS-1 I don't think I want or need it.

And Kevin is super helpful- I didn't even buy my cooker from him (bought it used from one of his teammates) and he has made a point to get me up to speed on the cooker.

I have the superior ss-2 and the superior ss-3. if you want a easy to use and easy to move around smoker give the ss-3 a look. Great quality and I do kcbs comps on just 1 ss-3 smoker. Just wanted to share my .02

As I understand it, the Assassin, Rebel and SS are all made by the same people. So what's the difference in them?

I'll second that! Including driving all over the south helping us crazy Brits!

The difference for me, what WHO I was buying my smokers from. Kevin has always been willing to help with any problems I've had, and is only a phone call away if I have a question. He cooks multiple times a month on the product he sells, and is always looking into ways to better his product. At every competition he's been at this year, he always make a point to go around and talk to all of the other Superior owners, and asks for feedback and if he can be of any help.

No offense to Jeff, (and I'm not sure about who owns Rebel), but Jeff isn't a BBQ competitor, Jeff is a metalworker. Jeff can help with a few problems, but won't be able to offer true advise to your BBQ.

I preferred to buy my cooker from someone who I've seen live the BBQ life that all of us enjoy, and who genuinely cared about the food I was turning out, not just selling cookers.

Lol, Jeff knows plenty about cooking any type of meat. You don't have to be a competitor to cook the best bbq. Kind of a ridiculous comment iyam. Your preference but I wanted to make it clear its bullsh*t to say he is just a metalworker.

I do own an Assassin, but I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fanboy. I don't know Jeff personally, just dealt with him and Robin on the phone and email.

But I am throwing the 8ull$hit flag on what I would say is an inaccurate statement you make Hogzgonewild about Jeff. Of course YMMV . . .
